Succeeding the commendable 10+ year run of the CF-31, the FZ-40 improves upon that venerable and well known form factor in almost every way. Increasing the performance, versatility and durability of the CF-31, the FZ-40 also boasts Panasonic's user-customizable line of xPak modules. Fully rugged, the FZ-40 pushes the bar one again for the industry by increasing default specs to a 6 foot drop rating and ingress protection to 66 (IP66.) Boasting a brilliant max brightness of 1200 nits, the FZ-40 doesn't compromise on battery life with a 12 hour battery life (or 24 with the optional second battery.)
