The S410 is Getac’s most market applicable laptop. That’s not to say their other products don’t have their own market but the S410 captures the broadest group of customers in Getac’s lineup. Getac breaks down their durability between “Rugged” and “Fully Rugged”. Rugged is built to sustain regular use in harsh environments but not for the hardest use cases out there. While very strong it is still susceptible to higher drops or liquid in large amounts. The ports are not completely sealed. At the time of this blog writing we’re discussing the generation 5 (G5) S410.
Getac S410 Cellular Modem
Getac was the first to get 5G access into this form factor and classification of laptop in the industry. The S410 can have 4G LTE with Integrated GPS or 5G sub-6 with integrated GPS.
Getac S410 MIL-STD-810H Rating
This device meets a 3 foot drop rating. It can operate from -20F to 145F. With an IP53 classification it is not going to work correctly in more wet environments like active rain.

Getac S410 14” LCD
The 14” screen seems to be the sweet spot on laptops. Getac does make a bigger screen, the S510 (15.6”) but we’ll cover that in another blog. The 14” has the option of being up to 1,000 nits of brightness and can be purchased as touch or non touch. The most basic version has a resolution of 1366x768 which is pretty old. It’s for budget pricing but Getac will be the first to suggest any prospective buyer look into an FHD 1920x1080 resolution screen. You can choose if you want a capacitive multi-touch screen or not.
Getac S410 Dedicated Graphics Card
This is a pretty unique feature to Getac. They offer an optional GTX1650 4GB Discrete graphics controller in the laptop. This is great for the customer who may need higher graphics for things like computer aided drafting or other large computational loads of data.
It’s Got a Handle!
This is a fantastic feature of rugged notebooks. The handle makes it so much easier to literally pick up and travel around with.
Getac S410 RAM & Storage
The Getac S410 comes with 8GB RAM as a standard but can be upgraded to 16GB, 32GB, or as much as 64GB of RAM. It comes with a standard of 256GB SSD but can be upgraded to 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB of primary storage space. There is an optional secondary hard drive that can be installed for an extra 512GB or 1TB of space.
Getac S410 I/O Interface Options
The S410 comes with a 3.5mm Audio in / out, QTY 3 USB 3 Type A, a Thunderbolt 4 Type C, LAN, HDMI, and the docking connector as a standard. As optional features the MicroSd, 5MP webcam, SIM, Windows Hello 5MP Webcam, RF antenna pass through can all be configured but not added later. You can also configure the laptop to have a serial port (9pin; D-sub), VGA Port (15-Pin; D-sub) 2nd LAN (RJ45), Powershare USB, and Display port.
Getac S410 Security Features
Getac allows for greater security using optional features like smart card readers, Intel Vpro Technology, Fingerprint readers, HF RFID readers, and Windows Hello compatible webcams.It has a Kensington Lock anchor for physical security.
Getac S410 Media Bay
The side media bay can have a “weight saver” option which is nothing inserted, 1D/2D barcode reader, DVD Super Multi Driver, Blu-Ray Super MUlti Driver, an extra battery, or a 2nd SATA SSD drive. These are mutually exclusive options so only one can be used at a time.
